Bille is a little girl no one thinks will amount to anything. So she decides to show everyone what is really inside her! Life in Latvia in the 1930s isn’t easy for a little girl from impoverished conditions who is always reminded that she will never amount to anything. But Bille does not give in to the incessant belittling by those around her, and instead grows up strengthened and firmly convinced she wants to accomplish something in her life and never, ever give up. This family film about hope and the strength of the human will was based on the autobiographical novel of author Vizma Belševica.
