  • WE START IN A WEEK!

    On Thursday the 31st of March the 1st press conference took palce in the spaces of the Czech ministry of Culture. Among the speakers were Michaela Mlíčková-Jelínková, the spokeswoman of the Delegation of the European Comission in the Czech Republic, and Ari Tasanen  from the Embassy of Finland. The dramaturg of DEF Zdeněk Blaha gave a detailed presentation of the festival program of 45 films – the best of current European film production. More details about our programe could be found here.   • Today we start in the regions

    Starting today, the Days of European film move to the cities of Echoes of DEF where they will stay till the 26th of April. Interested in the exact dates? Here you go: Boskovice (Kino Boskovice: 20/4 – 22/4), Hradec Králové (Bio Central: 21/4 – 23/4), Jablonec (Kina Jablonec nad Nisou: 21/4 – 24/4), Plzeň (Měšťanská Beseda: 22/4 – 24/4) and Havířov (Kino Centrum Havířov: 23/4 – 26/4). We sincerily thank to all of you who have come to DEF in Prague and Brno and are looking forward to all of you who are to come to on of our Echoes screenings!     Sale on all tickets for screenings of DEF in Brno bought on 16th of April 2015. The sale will be over at midnight. You can buy as many tickets as you want.

  • Hasta la vista! and tapas by Koko

    There will be a feast on Thursday again! The great food blogger Koko will prepare this menu from authentic Spanish ingredients: tapas paella with chicken and shrimps Spanish KOKOstew with beens and morilloa And what will be on the screen?   • Seminar Cinema 2015

    The seminar is one of a number of projects, that usualy take place during the Days Of European Film festival and are co-organized by the association ProDigi o.s. (www.digitalnikino.cz), the Days of European Film and Creative Europe – MEDIA Czech Republic. The seminar will present interesting projects of cinema owners, new audience development projects and summarize cinema statistics of 2014. Representatives of the new board of the State Cinematography Fund shall submit the financial plan and time schedule of the Fund and evaluate its performance in the first two years after approval of the new audiovisual law.   • Free Screening in European House

    In the cinema of European House will be presented the Portuguese film Bobo in a special screening today at 7pm. The film was chosen in the co-operation with the Delegation of European Commission in the Czech Republic and is a part of the section To The Point, which maps issues highlighted during the European Year for Development 2015. More information here. Entrance is free.   • French Cuisine and Mood Indigo

    Come and enjoy a three course dinner and a delicious film at the unique space of the Prague cinema Royal on April 11th! What is the menu for the first screening of a the special section Film Flavour prepared by a French chef  Mohammed Saouchi „Momo“ from the bistro Cefé 35?   • Festive opening with a guest

    Cinema Lucernu will be ruled today by the German director Burhan Qurbani and his film se snímkem We Are Young. We Are Strong. The director Burhan Qurbani accepted an invitation from Goethe-Institut Prague and will present his film in person. The film is a riveting drama capturing the racial riots, which broke out in Germany more than 20 years ago. However, it reflects not only these old events but also the persisting problem of xenophobia, which is convulsing Europe with constantly growing intensity. The suggestively presented film uses camera in a highly original manner. It offers the ways in which three different participants of the riots see the same event. Besides the established German actors such as Devid Striesow (Time of Cannibals, 3, Downfall), the thrilling drama full of powerful acting performances also features the oncoming generation of actors: including Joel Basman or Jonas Nay. Burhan Qurbani was born in West Germany in 1980 to a family of Afghan immigrants.  After graduating from high school, he gained experience in his desired field by working in media and film and eventually enrolled in film direction studies at the Film Academy of Baden-Wurttemberg.  His first film, a short called Illusion (2007), won several awards.

    All tickets for festival screenings in cinemas Světozor and Lucerna are on sale today (8. 4. 2015). Today’s price is 49 CZK. You can buy as many tickets as you want.   • This year not only film feast!

    The first press conference took place on the 31st of March at 11am in the Nosticův palác, the residence of the Czech Ministry of Cultura. The details about this seazon were shared with the PRESS. At the speekers table were present: Dr.Berthold Franke – directo, Goethe-Institut; Martin Stašek – PR representative of the Delegation of The European Commission in the Czech Republic,  Veronika „KOKO“ Kokešová – a food bloger, and Zdeněk Blaha – dramaturg of the festival. All about todays press conference could be found here. Today, there were for the first time shared details about a special festival section,  FILM FLAVOUR. Veronika „KOKO“ Kokešová, a food blogger, talked about the dinner she will prepare for the screening of the film  Hasta la vista! (16.4.). The unique experience of cinema cuisine will be brought to the viewers by the home and pop-up restaurant UKOKO in co-operation with the companies  Premier Wines & Spirits and Sabores. Dinner for the screening of  Mood Indigo (11.4.) will be prepared by the French chef Mohammed Saouchi  “Momo” and the bistro Cafe 35. Screening of Great Beauty (18.4.) will be underlined by the menu by Italian cher Alex Facchin and Pizzerie FIAT. More information about te fusion of good films and good
